New Jobless Claims Post Unexpected Increase

The number of newly laid off workers filing claims for unemployment benefits unexpectedly rose last week as the recovery of the nation's battered labor market proceeds in fits and starts.

The Labor Department said Thursday that the number of new jobless claims rose to 480,000 last week, up 7,000 from the previous week. That was a worse performance than the decline to 465,000 that economists had expected.

The four-week average for claims, which smooths out fluctuations, did fall, dipping to 467,500, the 15th straight decline, viewed as an encouraging sign that the labor market is gradually improving. The four-week average is now at its lowest point since late September 2008, the period when the financial crisis was hitting with full force.

Who was in power in congress during Bush's last four yrs? Democrats. President Obama blames the Republicans when the Democrats did virtually nothing to stop them or were actually "complicent" in helping them do everything he blames them for. Not only that, but he has spent more than the Republicans did in one year than the Bush Administration did in eight years. He attacks the Republicans for opposing his health care initiatives when he himself lied about almost every promise he made about health care and made secret deals with the very people he said was most responsible for high health care costs exempting them from his reform plans. As the most important issue in the US "SAFETY FIRST" and economy second. Safety does have a price in a dangerous evil world. Bush's approval rating was at the ALL TIME HIGHEST Level of ANY president which was 90 PERCENT!!!!!!!! Truman was lowest at 47% then Barrack Obama at 48%.

Exactly why is this unexpected? Obama and company have borrowed and spent on everything from space surgery funding, salt marsh mouse preservation and political bribes but no jobs. The climate regulation scam has now tanked and the health care power grab is circling the drain. I wonder if our Nebraska Senator will get some kind of tax payer paid bribe like Louisiana Purchase Landrieu got? Obama=corruption

Is it me, or does Lavon, Barlow and Derek not in this bad economy stuff Obama is doing? I mean its their man causing this yet they speak of how great the guy is? Well, Obama is wrecking this economy on purpose to lead us into the fundemental changes he spoke of, communism. That explaints the spending, the debt and the healthcare cost. Threaten to do just those things that scare businesses, small and big, out of hiring. Enjoy this change, some of you voted on, just remember, there is no hope until 2012.

I love how the AP swings this... NOTHING that the Obama administration has done has helped, and some of it has made things even worse. They are spending our money like there is no tomorrow, and it's "unexpected" that jobless numbers rise? Give me a break. The stimulus did NOTHING to create jobs. It was pork projects for senators and representatives in their own backyards and our money was wasted by the billions. This is even evident on the tracking site they set up for "transparency"... what a joke. We're screwed till 2010 elections at the least...And that's assuming the idiots who "rock the vote" actually pay attention to what is going on right now instead of Tiger Woods or Rhianna or whoever is the next media magnet...

This is because of Obama's political climate change. Evil is good now and good is evil. How can any good come from evil people? Obama, just another son of the father of all lies which is satan.
