Pivotal Health Care Reform Vote Tuesday

An important health care vote is on tap Tuesday in the Senate Finance Committee which is expected to approve the $829 billion package.

Democrats hold a 13-to 10 advantage and Chairman Max Baucus is confident, even though two Democrats on the panel have voiced some serious concerns.

West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller has numerous concerns, not the least of which is the lack of a public option.

Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden, a longtime health care reform supporter, feels the bill falls short on affordability, cost control and patient choice.

Maine Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe might vote for it and Democrats are hoping that even if she doesn't she might support it on the Senate floor.

Tuesday's vote also comes on the heels of an insurance industry-funded study which says the bill would make insurance much more expensive.

Well, the numbers are in; this program will rape the elderly, take 7-12% of your yearly income, depending on your salary. So, these liars that told us they would not increase our taxes, are fighting to increase your healthcare payment three fold. If you are paying $300 a month, it will now cost some of you $900 per month. You guys and gals getting this? If will be cheaper to pay the penalty for not having it. Now, who voted for this change? Lavon, weigh in please on the great job your president is doing.

We need a healthy care plain for all working people, just because you are doing fine, dose not make up for those who are in need of healthy care. Therefore, show your love for other's who are hurting and in need. "Thank God" somebody care for others!!

Some of you get it, some of you don't. If you work for a corporation, you update every 6 months. "heres what stinks on Oct 18, 2009 at 11:20 PM" thanks for getting it. I rolled it over before "the big one" which is when most around me in my small town lost fortunes. Folks, when the dow is up around 1400 and drops to under 800, some of you getting this? Why? People pulled out of stocks when Nancy "the witch of the west" said she was going after capitol gains. This dropped the market when Obama elected since he is deemed a "tax and spend liberal". Well, not that he is running things, he has proved he is a "tax and spend liberal". Don't believe that? Healthcare, debt, stimulus, another stimulus and cap and trade.....just wait folks, you are going to scream when you see what this really costs.

That is sad and it is not a joke of any sort,it doesn't make any difference who had to take the loss if they are honest people.I have often heard that time and money are the two things that can never be recuperated. Both can be great losses.Thankfully things are ok for me.But OSOC sounds like the noise that a child makes beating on an empty metal barrel.I agree, there are pro and cons to 401 plans.Check them out

Sorry,I worked for a company for 26yrs and didn't loose any money in 410k.And we had options. You might try finding another company to work for.Life is a gamble. And for Obamam being my Messiah, you are dead wrong. The only one I know of that had a problem with Moses was Pharoah. The ones that had a problem with the the Christ messiah was the greed mongers and Satan. With you referring to Obama as the Messiah,my eyes have really been opened.Guess you're going to have to build your own pyramids and buy your own sacrfices to save your own sins. What an allegory, you have presented.Maybe God does intervene in the affairs of man, unlike what Jefferson believed.Well to say the least, you invested wrongly. There are people that have posted that faired well with thier investments due to good judgement.Sorry for your loss.Be more diligent in the future.

Anon. This isn't the final bill! Now, the House has to pass their version. The two in the Senate have to be combined, then the one of the Senate is combined with that one-then and only then do you have a final bill. There is a lot more to do and since they are on line, you can read them any time you want to.

I don't understand how you blame Obama for losing your 401K. The market began crashing and we were told the banks would bankrupt before the election. In fact, the market is recovering, so maybe you'll fair better in a year-I hope so. Lumping Marx and socialistic programs together is a radical oversimplification of very complex idologies. Successful governments often contain elements of many ideas, but few have successfully been a total make-up of one. Our electoral college, for example, isn't "true" democratic voting, but it works. I went to college with a young Cuban lady who was here in '59 and stayed. She was from the extremely wealthy class before Castro. She never even dressed herself growing up-had a handmaiden. It was the 60's and when we talked about the turbulence in the country then, she told us to "rest assured". "Revolution doesn't come from demonstrating differences-it comes from an insurmountable gap between the "haves" and the "have nots". I think she was right.

when the fed govt gets a hold of your freedoms, you will no longer be able to pick and choose how you will be screwed over, as you could with health insurance. too funny obabystinkoil, you must not have any experience with 401ks, hahahaha thers no 'moving your money', silly! moving your money wont make your money safe!! many people have 401ks through their jobs and are collectively invested; no MOVING THE MONEY. this happened to my father, he lost half of his life earnings in a 401k, collectively invested and deemed 'safe'. if MOVING HIS MONEY could have saved anything, trust me, the man is a brilliant old penny pincher- he would have. i saw a bumpersticker on a car today that said 'annoy a liberal, use facts and logic'. hahahahahahahaha and PLEEEEEEZ do not take away my right to say anything else bad about your purported messiah. its still america, for now!

There was no one stopping you.You lost your 401k not Obama and surely not Bush.Grow up and get on with it man.I don't think any other post would agree with your last post unless it was you posting under another user name. For real !

Obama Snake Oil Co Location: Washington on Oct 17, 2009 at 07:47 AM ...You need to look at where and how your money was invested. There were hundreds of people that have lost 401k's in years past. You should have been watching your money close in times like this. You possibly could have rolled it over into safer secure accounts. There might be penaties, but heck,no sense in taking big risk.Of course not everyone is smart when it comes to investments.Use an investment firm and it shouldn't take 20 years to get your money back.Know when to fold and know when to hold. That is a choice and a freedom that you had and still have.I don't think you need to blame this on anyone but guess who !Poor decisions bring poor results.I am sorry that you lost money,be careful next time around. There are people that have gained on markets during Bush's years and are doing great now.
