President Obama To Consider Sending More Troops To Afghanistan

The call for more troops to Afghanistan is not getting an immediate green light from President Barack Obama.

President Obama says it's going to be a "very deliberate process" in making the decision to send more troops to war. Obama's top military adviser endorsed an increase in U.S. forces Wednesday, saying it would probably be necessary to fight a deepening insurgency in Afghanistan.

46 American troops died in Afghanistan in August alone. Camp Lejeune Marines are deployed there right now.

One of the only things he has said or done that I agree with. Don't believe the crap CNN tells you. They have an agenda and its not to tell the truth. Our military are and have made a positive difference there. My son is a soldier in the Army. I know what Im talking about.

My youngest son is over there with the 2/8 Battalion, and they have fought insurgents almost everyday he has been there. What is it going to take for the American politics as well as this nation to realize, there isn't enough help to change the whole situation from bad to better....especially if the rules of engagement are to befriend the Afghan people as well!!!! I fear for the troops over there, cut off from the world, fighting a people that use "cowardly" ways of fighting with IED's. THEY NEED HELP!!!! Get real Washington.....

I concur with "Mike", and have no problem with increasing the troops if it is needed to bring the conflict to an early end, but having said that where is all the outcry from the dumocrats?, Where are all the lefties who cryed and moaned when Bush was increasing troops? I hate those who talk out of both sides of their mouths! Where is the body count we heard every night when Bush was in office? Come on NBC,CBS, ABC, CNN and others why aren't you moaning on tv about the high body count?

I thought we were pulling out of that area. Oh I get it pull out of Iraq and send them to Afghanistan and Iran. Our fearful leader just like Slick Willy. Oh look at my right hand and I slap you with my left. Typical can't trust any of them. At least Bush was honest and said you can't pull them out.

I am in favor of sending in more troops. The Iraq surge worked. Have you ever heard the term there is strength in numbers? I dont recall him saying anything about getting them out of Afganistan, he did say he would get them out of Iraq. Our job in Iraq is done, we got rid of Saddam and gave the Iraqi people something they never had, freedom. Mike is right, we need to fight them on their soil, not ours. Or dont you remember what happened the last time they came here? I dont like to see troops sent into harms way but we have to do what is necessary to stop the terrorists form coming here again.
