49th Anniversary Of JFK Assassination

Forty-nine years ago Thursday, shots were fired that forever changed American history.

On November 22nd, 1963, President John F Kennedy was shot while his motorcade passed through downtown Dallas.
He was declared dead 30 minutes later.

Texas Governor John Connally was also wounded, but survived.

Police arrested Lee Harvey Oswald for the assassination and for killing police officer J.D. Tippit.

Oswald was shot to death two days later by Jack Ruby, while being transferred to a jail cell.

Nearly a year later, a commission determined Oswald acted alone and was responsible for killing the president.
