Michael Jackson's Mother Files For Guardianship Of His Children

A court document says Michael Jackson's mother, Katherine, has filed for guardianship of the singer's three children.

The guardianship papers were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday. A hearing has been set for Aug 3.

Jackson left behind three children: Michael Joseph Jackson Jr., known as Prince Michael, 12; Paris Michael Katherine Jackson, 11; and Prince Michael II, 7. The youngest son was born to a surrogate mother.

i think who ever was taking care of the children is who they should live with, also i feel michael jackson, mother should be aloud to be a big role in their life.affter all, michael said his dad was the one that was cruel, not his mom look how michael turned out, these kids have been taught not to be racist,i think that is wonderful.michael chose a white woman to bare his chilren,so they shoulbe with mixed family like they are familiar.President Obama is mixed.they say she is racial, but she has yet to show that side of herself.so i think it,s a lie.why hasn't Queen Opra been considered to be a role in the children?power and prayers to th kids, while big headlines show high profile,in greenville,n.c.27834,there have been 2 drive by shootings of 2college students from ECU coll.killed, richardson is still on the loose GANG MEMBERSTHEY WERE LOVED ALSO>GOD BLESS

That family had many problems because they rose to fame too quick and too soon. I think Katherine has learned from that mistake, ie we don't see her in the public unless she has to be. My only concern however is that she may be a little too old but hey grandparents raise their grandchildren everyday all of this country. As long as she keeps the nanny that has been with them for probably most of their lives they will be in good hands. I think they should look figure out who would be next in line to take care of them after she is gone.

Those kids belong with their mother. But they say money talks. We will see. Grandma didn't do such a great job with hers with all the issues that family has had. Michael himself said he never had a childhood. That's probably why he tried to live his life through children, all the alleged sleeze put aside.

Please explain to me why Katherine Jackson is someone who does not know how to raise a "wholesome child with morals?" We as parents raise our children to the best of our ability and what they do as adults we have no control overYes MJ had issues but none of us were there and will never know the full truth. Also please let me know how lonng should they wait before looking into his will, if he was broke and in debt like the media says don't you think debtors will be coming soon? His children do need to be protected. Who's to say that these mothers will not try to come for them, these children have been through so much in the past few days, the last thing they need is a custody war they need to be with people whom they are familiar with and people that only have their best interests at heart. So I think it's only right to start the leagl matters as soon as possible. I do not think Katherine is too concerned about his money I'm sure he probably had her set for a lifetime!

Hey Tulips not just african americans get involved with scandals. I think it's all the cash and fame that take people over the edge.

Yes, his kids were living with him. Why negative comments about Mrs. Jackson who wants to take care of these kids? Their mothers' obviously don't care that much, they were paid off to not be around.

My biggest question is where and who is children have been living with, because I don't think it was him. Why take them away from a place they are familiar with and comfortable in?

I'm glad his family loved him enough to want custody of his kids. I just hate it that even with the king of pop being gone....there r still haters out there. But I guess....that's the job of a hater...to hate. I wish all the love being shown in the media..could have been shown while he was alive. Michael Jackson got caught up in a scandal like soo many other successful african americans, but in the end...god always prevail!
