If you have noticed your mail arriving later than usual, you are not alone.
The U.S. Postal Service says it is shrinking its workforce. The downsize affects carriers by making them have to work longer hours and into the evening.
The post office also blames inclement weather, traffic issues, as well as seasonal fluctuations in mail volume for deliveries after 5 p.m.
Nationwide, mail in cities was delivered later 38% of the time last year compared to 25% in 2011.
