Gov. Perdue Signs 4 Military Friendly Bills Into Law

State leaders want North Carolina branded as the most military friendly state in the nation.

Monday Governor Bev Perdue signed 4 bills into law that help our troops and their families with community college tuition, overseas voting and health care. Brigadier General Iwan Clontz with the North Carolina National Guard says the law helping diagnose and treat behavioral health is really needed.

"The suicide issues that we have with other mental issues- this one is the one at the end of the day that troubles you the most so that's the one I'm happiest with," said Clontz.

With multiple deployments the military is seeing more cases of post- traumatic stress disorder.

Yes, I probably ride the governor a little hard sometimes in my criticisms, but you have to give her credit and some applause when she does the right thing.
