Wounded Veteran Receives Mortgage Free Home

A wounded veteran and his family in Jacksonville received the keys to their new mortgage free home Saturday.

A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony took place Saturday morning for retired U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant Vincent Gizzarelli and his family.

Gizzarelli was deployed two times and served over 10 years in Iraq.

The new home was made possible by "Operation Finally Home." The organization was established in 2005 to provide custom made, mortgage free homes to wounded and disabled veterans.

The company Mohawk supplied all of the home's carpet, hardwood, laminate, and ceramic flooring.
