Wounded Veteran Reunited With Dog After Months Apart

It's been a struggle for veteran Jeremy Goodman after he was injured while fighting overseas. Goodman was severely injured by a roadside bomb in 2005 while in Iraq.

Ever since then he's been in and out of the hospital and three months ago he had to leave his dog at a local kennel while he underwent surgery.

On Friday Goodman was released from the hospital and Saturday morning he arrived at the Riverside Pet Resort in Washington ready to pick up his pit bull Jordan. Goodman says, "It's been an ongoing battle every since 2005. You know I feel like I've stayed in the hospital more than I have at home, but I can't wait to see my dog." That's just what Goodman got to do. It was a very happy reunion.

Mike Broadwell recently bought the pet resort and has been taking care of Jordan ever since. Broadwell says, "It touched my heart, it touched us a lot and we wanted to do a lot for him, so keeping Jordan was one small thing we could do to help with his struggles that he goes through every day."

Broadwell says because Goodman's story touched him, he decided to waive the expense. Goodman doesn't have to pay the boarding bill of nearly $1,200 dollars.
