(WBBH) Blue skies, peace and quiet. The only sound is a propeller. That's paradise for World War II veteran Roger Wieland.
"That wonderful feeling of aviating...you're alone, nobody can bug you," Wieland said.
Wednesday Wieland got a taste of that serenity one last time. His daughter, Paula Wieland, surprised him at the Naples Municipal Airport with a flight in a 1946 Ercoupe.
"Don't make me cry. It's just really exciting that we could do this," Paula said.
"Brought back an awful lot of memories," Roger added.
