Some people played Santa Friday to kick off Christmas at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point for the traditional Trees for Troops giveaway.
450 trees were shipped in from Virginia and as far away as Wisconsin to Cherry Point and were delivered to a crowd of marines and their families. Volunteers off- loaded the trees and tied them down to vehicles.
"It's really important to show that we all support them for supporting us. I think it's really cool. They're showing their support for our husbands and wives that are out there." said Emily Thomassee as she picked up her tree.
