Commuters in Jacksonville ran into serious delays Thursday morning getting on base.
Camp Lejeune spokesman Nat Fahy said there was an identification check in operation.
"This is a tool used to enforce base regulation and evaluate potential threats, " said Fahy. "However today, there is no cause of concern."
Some drivers said they sat in traffic for nearly 2 hours Thursday morning trying to get on base.

By 9 a.m., Fahy said the check had been lifted.
