Soldier Facing Sex Crime Charges

A Camp Lejeune soldier is facing several charges of sex crimes against a child.

Court records show Ulker Layseca, 38, has been indicted in Onslow County on taking indecent liberties with a child and statutory rape or sex offense against a child older than 6.

The Jacksonville Daily News says Layseca is an Army soldier who was assigned to Camp Lejeune and had to be extradited back to North Carolina from Fort Benning Georgia to face these charges.

Court records show Layseca is scheduled to stand trial starting Monday.
