Soldier From Raleigh Dies In Afghanistan

The Department of Defense announced Sunday the death of a 21-year-old soldier from Raleigh.

Spc. Darrion T. Hicks died July 19 in Ghazni, Afghanistan, from injuries sustained from an enemy improvised explosive device. Hicks was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom

He was assigned to the 54th Engineer Battalion, 18th Engineer Brigade, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Bamberg, Germany.
