A Marine Corps aviator's children are getting an outpouring of help to ensure their future education after his death in Afghanistan.

The Jacksonville Daily News reports that the children of Staff Sgt. Thomas Dudley are scheduled to receive education bonds during a ceremony Monday at his home base, the New River Air Station.

The Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation will present the $30,000 bonds to each of Dudley's three children.

The 29-year-old Marine from Tega Cay, S.C., died July 7. He was a MV-22B Osprey crew chief.

Dudley died near the end of a seven-month deployment before he could finalize the paperwork required to make him the legal father of his wife's 13-year-old daughter. The couple had two children together.
