The State Attorney General has issued a warning about a website that looks like it should help America's military men and women.

Gibill.com is an official-looking website that steered military veterans to expensive for-profit schools. Now, the site is being turned over to the government and its owners must pay $2.5 million to North Carolina and 19 other states for misleading veterans and service members.

Attorney General Roy Cooper said gibill.com appeared to be operated, owned or endorsed by the U.S. government or military. The sites are actually run by a private company that is payed to promote for-profit schools.
