Multiple media reports indicate a U.S. Marine training at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville has been charged with the rape of a 12-year-old girl he reportedly met on the internet.
Brandon Bowman is charged with first-degree rape of a child, first-degree sex offense on a child and indecent liberties with a child.
WRAL is reporting Bowman, who is stationed in Huntingdon, England, is accused of committing the crime in a neighborhood near Fort Bragg at the end of April.
Bowman was arrested May 9. He was locked up in Cumberland County under a multi-million dollar bond.
