New River Marine Killed In Afghanistan

Military officials say a Marine staff sergeant based at New River has been killed in Afghanistan.

The Department of Defense says that 29-year-old Staff Sgt. Thomas J. Dodds Dudley of Tega Cay, S.C., died July 7 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province.

Dudley was assigned to Marine Air Group 26, 2nd Marine Air Wing, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Air Station New River in, Jacksonville, N.C.

    I just want to thank this Marine for his service. He sacrificed his life for our freedom we as americans cannot thank our military enough. God I just asked that you be with his family. Strengthen them in this sad time.
