New Non-Profit To Help Troops Opens In Ayden

A local organization to help the troops is now back open for business.

The former "Give To The Troops" organization is now called "NCPACKS4PATRIOTS" and is now in its new home in Ayden.

Barabara Whitehead has spearheaded this non-profit for years in Greenville but had to move the location. Then they separated from the national organization to start their own.

Tuesday supporters from all over the county came for the grand opening. Whitehead say it has always been her mission, since her son was deployed, to help do something for soldiers overseas. Whitehead says, "It's the least we could do to send cards and letters, beef jerky to send deodorant, body wash and come out and pack the boxes to make a donation to pay for the postage, it's a very small way to say thank you"

Whitehead says they are back to packing up care packages every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until noon at their East Third Street location in Ayden.
