Marines Return To MCAS Cherry Point From Afgahnistan

51 Pilots returned to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Wednesday after a 7 month deployment in Afghanistan.

Families and friends greeted the pilots with signs and hugs as they returned this afternoon. The squadron was the first to deploy with a new capability known as EA-6B improved capability or ICAP III, this capability helps integrate marines. Squadron Commander Lieutenant Colonel Marlin Benton says it was a huge success.

"The marines really worked hard get to know the airplane- got to know how to fix it, how to make it work, and once we got it there- just kind of fell into place." said Lt Col Benton.

104 other marines from this unit returned Saturday night. The rest of the unit is scheduled to return Thursday.
