Marines Return To Cherry Point From Afghanistan

A small group of 40-50 marines returned home Thursday to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock in Craven County. The unit is the Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron or the VMU- 2. According to officials at Cherry Point, they were in Afghanistan for the past 6 months serving the Regional Command Southwest. The group was in Afghanistan to perform a NATO mission.
