Nearly 150 New River Marines are making their way home Wednesday and Thursday after a five-month deployment.
Members of the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 365 were in Moron, Spain supporting the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force Crisis Response. This deployment included supporting U.S. Embassies, non-combatant evacuation operations, and humanitarian assistance among other tasks.
In this latest mission, Marines said they logged the largest MV-22 Osprey trans-Atlantic flight to date and established some standard operating procedures to follow in future operations in Spanish and Italian air spaces.
Nearly 40 Marines will return Wednesday. The other 110 are scheduled to be home Thursday.
