New River Marine Charged With Chase

A Marine private first class is out on bond at this morning, facing felony charges for running from authorities this weekend.

Highway Patrol troopers say 21-year-old K.C. Lanski, is charged with felony flee to elude among other charges.

The New River Air Station Marine was traveling on Highway 17 on his motorcycle just after 8:00PM Friday night. Troopers tried to pull Lanski over for a possible violation, when they say he kept going.

Lanski traveled down New Bridge Street where troopers say he left his bike behind the District Attorney's Office and started running.

He was caught a short time later after a brief foot chase and taken to the Onslow County jail.

He has since bonded out and has a next court date scheduled for April 30.
