Iranian Boats Shadow USS Aircraft Carrier In Gulf

The American aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln has passed through the Strait of Hormuz, shadowed by Iranian patrol boats.

But there were no incidents on Tuesday as the Lincoln's battle group crossed through the narrow strait, which Iran has threatened to close in retaliation for tighter Western sanctions.

Several U.S. choppers flanked the carrier group throughout the voyage from the Gulf. Radar operators also picked up an Iranian drone and surveillance helicopter in Iran's airspace near the strait, which is jointly controlled by Iran and Oman.

The Lincoln entered the Gulf last month amid heightened tensions with Iran. It is scheduled to begin providing aiding the NATO mission in Afghanistan starting Thursday.

I'm not worried. Under the current President the US has taken care of several of the most notorious thugs, tell Iran to step right up, they are next. Go ahead and complain Repubs but you can't dispute that O's getting it done, something your man had trouble getting done. I guess he was to focused on avenging for his dad and well Halliburton of course.

If we don't address the problem with Iran now, before they acquire a nuclear weapon, we're going to have a much tougher decision to make down the road when they use those weapons on Israel or other nations in the region. The people that are going to hate us for neutralizing Iran now already hate us. Israel solved this type of problem once before when Iraq built a nuclear reactor and we shouldn't stand in their way as they act to solve this threat. Iran cannot be permitted to possess nuclear weapons because they have demonstrated too many times in the past that they are willing to act with reckless disregard.

Great post JOHN,I also think Iran is making small&large "NUCKS" for JEHAD and an all out HOLY WAR...A small suitcase "nuck" in the hands of a terrorist can be used as a dirty bomb with devastating results in large city crowds...Iran if not stopped now could make (9/11)attack happen only on a larger scale!!!

If they do use a nuke on us here in the US of A, then Iran needs to become Americas newest glass factory. However, if they strike Israel, I could careless, Israel then should level Iran, not the US.

Kinda a funny title to this one. I'm sure they have NOTHING in their navy that can cast a shadow on our HUGE aircraft carrier. But I get that they are "tagging along"...

Forward Lookout: "Bridge, forward lookout, Iranian Gunboat dead ahead". 3 minutes later. Aft Lookout: "Bridge, Aft Lookout, flotsom in the wake".
