Hagan Looks For Update At VA In Fayetteville

Senator Kay Hagan's team said the democrat is making a trip to the Fayetteville VA Medical Center on Monday, looking for an updated report on how the center is cutting down wait times for veterans.

The acting VA Secretary, Sloan Gibson, visited the Fayetteville location on June 12th of this year.

At that visit, Gibson defended VA employees while also going over changes being made at that facility.

In mid-June, the VA released findings on an internal audit, which showed the Fayetteville clinic had veterans waiting an average of 29 days for an appointment while new patients were pushed back an average of 83 days.

Now Sen. Hagan's team said she will visit the clinic Monday to follow up on Gibson's previous meeting.
