Fort Bragg Soldiers To Return From Afghanistan

Soldiers from a Fort Bragg brigade team that has deployed three times to Afghanistan are coming home.

The Fayetteville Observer reported that 275 soldiers from the 4th Brigade Team of the 82nd Airborne Division are returning home Saturday. The soldiers served eight months in Kandahar province, an area known as the birthplace of the Taliban and many of the movement's leaders.

Nearly 3,500 4th Brigade paratroopers deployed to Afghanistan. The division headquarters returned home Labor Day. Two other brigades also are scheduled to return soon.

The 4th Brigade Combat Team has deployed three times to Afghanistan since it was activated in 2006.
