Fake Colonel Released From Prison Early

The man who became known as the "Fake Colonel" is out of prison earlier than expected.

Michael Hamilton, 69, was released from prison Friday, according to the records with the Federal Bureau of Prisons. He was sentenced in September to 16 months in prison.

Hamilton was found guilty of embezzling $30,000 from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, making false official statements, and wearing a uniform and medals he did not receive.
