Groundbreaking For Greenville VA Clinic Expansion

A ceremony is planned Thursday morning to mark the groundbreaking of the expansion of the Greenville VA clinic. Officials say the larger clinic will increase specialty care access to veterans.

The new facility, scheduled to be open in 2014, will be 116,000 square feet. The clinic will offer services such as audiology, cardiology, orthopedics, pharmacy, eye, dental, radiology, and minor procedures such as endoscopy.

Thursday's groundbreaking is open to the public, and veterans are encouraged to attend. It will take place at 401 Moye Blvd. in Greenville at 9:30 a.m. Republican Congressman Walter Jones will speak at the event.

Great, maybe now I can get an appointment in 2 month instead of the 4 months it took me last time. Maybe the providers at the new clinic will actually listen to what my problems are and try to fix them. Is that part of the expansion. Oh, and the 6 months I was going to have to wait for a specialty refereal. People recieving Medicaid get the choice of where they want to go and when for just a 3 dollar copay. Maybe I should stop working, spend the money saved in my bank account and apply for medicare. I would recieve better care.

This will be a great addition to Greenville. The veterans of eastern NC deserve to get medical care closer to home. It's comforting to know that those who put their lives in danger will be taken care of locally. Thank you to all who served and to the spouses back home. YOU'RE ALL HEROES
