Camp Lejeune Marine Killed In Afghanistan

A Camp Lejeune Marine from western Wisconsin has been killed in Afghanistan.

The U.S. Department of Defense says 22-year-old Cpl. Michael Nolen of Spring Valley died Monday while conducting combat operations in Helmand Province.

Nolen was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division stationed at Camp Lejeune.

No other details were immediately released.

    Thank you seems so shallow regarding the death of Cpl. Nolen. My prayers are with his family and friends. My Dad was a 22 year old Marine who died on Okinawa April 4, 1945 when I was 3 months old. Your pride of your son will never go away nor your love for him God bless.
