More roadwork is needed at the Camp Lejeune main gate, so officials have closed that gate through the weekend to finish paving.
Wet weather conditions hampered scheduled paving at the base's main entrance last weekend. The Piney Green gate will be open around the clock during this period to facilitate in-and-outbound traffic over the weekend.
The main gate is scheduled to reopen Monday morning at 4:30 in the morning.
Visitors must still get a pass at the main gate visitor’s center before entering through the Piney Green gate.
