Camp Lejeune will kick off a training exercise Monday morning that involves nearly 20 aircrafts from the Second Marine Aircraft Wing and roughly 500 Marines.
According to the Marine Corps, residents can expect an increase in aircraft and ground activity throughout the duration of the exercise in and around MCAS Cherry Point, New River, Marine Corps and Camp Lejeune.
An airlift of this scale has not been done on the east coast in approximately 10 years.
