Deputies say the wife of a Camp Lejeune Marine, who was shot by her husband Sunday morning in Davie County, has died.

Davie County deputies say Sara Harris passed away Thursday morning at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

The 29-year-old woman was shot at her parent's home. Deputies say PFC Kirk Harris shot his wife before turning the gun on himself. The Marine was found dead in the driveway around 6:30 a.m., while the wife was discovered across the street.

Sheriff Andy Stokes says the two had been arguing before the shooting. Harris' parents were not home. The couple had been staying there over the weekend. Deputies say they met there when he was on leave.

Camp Lejeune says Harris was an infantry assaultman with 2nd Battalion, 6th Marines.
