This weekend marks a somber anniversary for the Camp Lejeune military community.

Sunday, Oct. 23 is the anniversary of the Beirut bombing that killed 241 American servicemembers. The Camp Lejeune-based Second Marine Division was headquartered at the airport where truck bombs exploded in 1983.

The annual remembrance ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. at the Beirut Memorial in Jacksonville.
