Marine's ID Found With Body, Autopsy Planned

Rockbridge County, Va. authorities say an autopsy will determine whether a decomposed body found over the weekend is a marine who's been missing since September.

Media outlets report a hunter found the remains Saturday near Natural Bridge.

Rockbridge County Sheriff's Investigator Tim Hickman says military and civilian identification belonging to 30-year-old Cpl. Stephen M. Wolchok was found at the scene. Wolchok's vehicle was found abandoned in Botetourt County on Sept. 22.

Hickman said the remains have been sent to the state medical examiner to determine a positive identification and cause of death.

Wolchok was stationed at New River in Jacksonville.
