2009 Now The Deadliest Year In Afghanistan

The U.S. military says an improvised explosive device has killed four American service members in southern Afghanistan.

U.S. military spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Christine Sidenstricker says the four were killed in the south in an explosion Tuesday. No other information was released pending the notification of family members.

The deaths bring to 41 the number of U.S. troops killed in Afghanistan this month, the second deadliest month in the country since the 2001 U.S. invasion. Last month a record 44 U.S. troops died.

Violence has spiked the last three years, and the U.S. has more than 60,000 forces in the country, a record number.

obama has apologized to all foreign countries for what ever America did to up set them but he can't get any help. Seems that these countries are not in a love affair with obama. Barlow, this is one of the times I agree with you, it's not worth the lives of our young men and women.

The US needs to get significant international help, which probably isn't going to happen, or get out. Nobody has been able to control this country in the past and when we leave they are going to revert to their old ways (as they will in Iraq). Its a waste of money, and most of all a waste of our young men and women's lives.
