NC-Based Troopers To Jump After 15 Months In Iraq

More than 200 paratroopers are jumping for the first time after returning to their North Carolina base from a 15-month deployment to Iraq.

The paratroopers from Fort Bragg's 18th Airborne Corps will jump
Thursday and Friday from a C-130. The jump is part of the Army's
airborne re-certification process.

The unit served as headquarters for the Multi-National Corps in Iraq from Feb. 14, 2008, to Apr. 4. Vice President Joe Biden welcomed the headquarters unit back to its base last month during a ceremony.

When I was in Desert Storm, the government of Saudi Arabia wouldn't let us jump while we were there. I was told it was something to do with their religion.

I love how they show a picture of some skydivers in this article. The jumping these guys are going to be doing is a bit different to say the least.
