Court Date Moved For Marine Accused Of Hammer Assault On His Wife

UPDATE: Court officials say Jonathan Gould's court date has been moved to June 8th, though there will be an administrative hearing later this week between attorneys in the case.

A Camp Lejeune Marine accused of almost beating his pregnant wife to death with a hammer is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

25-year-old Jonathan Gould faces attempted murder charges in Onslow County.

Detectives claim Gould hit his wife Erin in the head with a hammer in December of last year.

Erin was in a coma for more than a month.

Authorities say Jonathan Gould beat his wife, then stabbed himself multiple times saying their home had been robbed.

Lawmen say Gould later confessed he attacked his wife.

I can not even find the words. His wife and she was pregnant with his precious baby. The last person that should ever hurt her and that tiny unborn baby was her husband. A freak'n hammer. If I was her Mom, he would not make it to court.

My family & I met Erin's family & friends at the hospital when we all spent 18 days there together in the waiting room while my brother in law was ill just prior to his death. We got to know Erin's family & friends pretty good. She was extremely ill & was showing signs of improvement when we returned some 2 months later to the hosptial to finally meet her in person. Her mother had to uproot and move here from Ohio to be by her daughter's side during the very long hospital stay. When we last spoke with Erin's family, they were unsure they would ever get "their Erin" back..........I hope her husband gets just what he deserves in court~!!
