Official: Soldier Shooting Was At 'Stress Clinic'

UPDATED: Pentagon officials say five Americans are dead after a U.S. soldier opened fire at a U.S. base in Baghdad. They say the attacker is in custody.

The officials say the shootings happened on Camp Liberty at a stress clinic, where troops can go for help with the stresses of combat or stress from personal issues.

One senior military official in Washington says it's unclear whether those killed are workers at the clinic or were there for counseling. He says officials also are unsure whether all the dead are members of the military.

I'm not a soldier nor the wife of one because I know personally that is not a life I would CHOOSE to lead. All of you can jump on me for this one, but sometimes I feel like America(the government) doesn't take care of our soldiers in uniform. Too many homeless and and underpaid veterans among us. For the ones getting on Obama I'm with Jay, for all we know this man could've been there and STRESSED long before Obama took office. Remember he's only been in a little over 100 days. I feel sory for all the families involved!

A pack of cigarettes and a zippo lighter would calm every one down. It worked in WW-2, Korea, and Vietnam. Oh, I forgot, Smoking is not allowed now. Second-hand smoke is not good for your health.

im not sure why they still allow someone with combat stress and personal issues to carry a weapon when they know something like this could happen

Didn't vote for Obama. Obama said he would end the Iraq war and get our soldiers home. Every time is see Obama laughing and joking at a D.C. function, it makes me want to puke. Prayers for these families and every family linked to our military. God have mercy on America.

J, none of our soldiers know how bad it is going to be until they get there.. I absolutely agree that it does not give them the "right" to kill anyone, but it is a factor in their decisions. If you have never served during war time you cannot understand what it does to the minds of the people having to fight so that everyone on here can leave their comments and read about the news in a non-controlled fashion. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of all those involved, I am sure there are alot of questions to be raised!
