A Camp Lejeune Marine was arrested and charged with first degree burglary.
Officers arrested 20 year-old Christopher Dillies after residents say he broke into a home at St. James place apartments just after one Saturday morning.
Residents told police they heard a noise downstairs and when they went to investigate, they saw a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt leaving through the back door.
Dillies was taken to the Onslow County Jail under a four-thousand dollar secured bond.
Here is how the information was given to WITN:
On 03/21/09 at 1:33 am, Officers were dispatched to St. James Place Apartments in reference to a breaking and entering. Upon arrival, Officers spoke with the victims who stated that they were upstairs when they heard someone talking downstairs in their apartment. The male victim went down stairs to investigate when he saw a white male wearing a gray hooded sweater leaving through the back door.
The male victim stated he heard a door slam so he went out the front door of his apartment. It was at this time his neighbor opened his door and asked the victim what was going on. While the neighbor’s door was open, the victim saw the white male that had been in his kitchen moments before in the neighbors apartment.
The victim asked the suspect where his computer was, to which he replied “he did not know”. It was at this time a female in the apartment told the victim that his computer was on their sofa. The victim located his property, retrieved it, then left and called the police.
Through the investigation Officers were able to locate and arrest a Christopher Dillies, W/M 20 YOA Charlie Company, 2nd Medical Battalion, 2nd Marine Division Camp Lejeune, NC. Mr. Dillies was placed in the Onslow County Jail under a $4,000.00 secure bond for 1st Degree Burglary.
