Taliban Has 10,000 To 15,000 Fighters

Afghanistan's interior minister says there may be between 10,000 and 15,000 Taliban fighting inside his country, and the insurgent group is operating across about 17 provinces.

Mohammad Hanif Atmar offered a rare estimate of the size of his government's most organized and potent opponent during a visit to Washington.

A large delegation of senior Afghan officials was in the U.S. capital this week, along with a delegation from Pakistan.

Both groups were weighing in as the new Obama administration forms a new strategy for the war in Afghanistan and a related policy for Pakistan.

Afghan officials say they told their hosts that a new strategy must include better cooperation from Pakistan, where Taliban and other militants have command operations.

The Wise One Location: NC...Guerrilla warfare...That is a racist remark if I have ever heard one. Just because our president is part black, do not associate him with Guerrillas.

Well, we shall see if Obuma keeps us safe on our soil. At least Bush took action after 9/11. This clown in DC will probably offer them free housing, college, food stamps: spread the wealth around to them all, now that we are in an economic crisis, he has made an easy target for us all. I just hope they go after the Liberals first!!!

Buzz, I guess that's what the Bush Administration was thinking when they sent more troops to Iraq rather than going after the Taliban. However, I'm glad that the Iraqis have more freedom now because a threat to freedom anywhere is a threat to freedom everywhere.

I'm sure they are just getting together to plan a cookout and play soccer. Because they are really nice guys, they love thier mothers just like we do. We just need to be more open and accepting. we need to work on our diversity. They cant be planning a terrorist attack or anything!!! Buzz-

George W. Bush- the gift that keeps on giving! "Great" job George, take your eye off the ball and go fight Daddy's and Dick Cheney's battle in Mesopotamia, while the REAL perpetrators of 9/11 gain strength in Afghanistan. Now rush to their defense neo-cons, the MAJORITY of Americans know that y'all were very wrong and damaged this country severely. How'd you like that money back now that we spent in the sands of Iraq? You won't admit that you were wrong due to your foolish pride, but it is very obvious to anyone with a capacity of clear and sober thought.
