A safety fair was held at Camp Lejeune Thursday to remind Marines to stay safe and stay warm during their upcoming holiday.
The Marines will be off Monday and Tuesday in honor of Martin Luther King Day.
Everytime Marines are off the base has what it calls a standown -- where they talk to Marines about practicing safe measures while enjoying time off.
This year, instead of a lecture -- many Marines were able to attend a safety fair where they learned about healthy eating, traveling and even got to participate in a beer goggle golf cart challenge to show the dangers of drinking and driving..
Red Cross officials were also on hand as well as members of the Department of Homeland Security
