UFC Fight At Ft. Bragg Raised $4M For Injury Research

A charity Ultimate Fighting bout at Fort Bragg raised $4 million dollars to support a planned research center for traumatic brain injuries, one of the most common combat injuries suffered by troops in Iraq.

The money raised during last week's fights goes to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and the Fisher House, a national network of homes at

The organizations are working with the Department of Defense to help build the National Intrepid Center of Excellence, a research facility in Maryland that will be dedicated to treating troops who suffer from traumatic brain injuries.

The organizations had already raised $50 million before the
fight. They need another $8 million dollars to start construction.
