One high school student set out to honor those who fought in our military by holding a candlelight vigil.
Kimberly Jackson, a South Central high school senior in Pitt County, held a candlelight vigil in Winterville Tuesday night as a part of her senior project.
Jackson says the vigil was inspired by her own family. She has two nephews in the Marines and a grandfather who served in World War II. She hopes to inspire people to remember the sacrifices made to protect our country.
Jackson says she hopes to get an "A" on her project--but she is happy knowing she made veterans feel special.
