Officials in Onslow County say a Woods fire is showing signs of improvement.
Emergency Services Director Norman Bryson says the fire is burning in the Hubert area.
Due to the potential of heavy smoke in the Highway 172, Bear Creek Road, Queen’s Creek Road, Sandridge Road, and Highway 24/Freedom highway vicinity, all drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution.
A volunteer evacuation of the Pines Mobile Home Park has been lifted and Bryson says residents may return to their homes.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Officials are not sure how many acres of land have burned.
Emergency services will remain on scene and the conditions of the fire will be monitored throughout the night.
The American Red Cross also responded and provided meals to those affected and emergency responders.
