Woman Wounded, Dog Killed During Home Invasion

Goldsboro police say they're investigating a home invasion where one person was shot and a dog killed.

It happened between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. Saturday at a home on West Spruce Street.

Police say seven people, including five children were inside when two gunmen forced their way inside and several shots were fired. A woman was shot in the foot and was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital for treatment while the family's dog was killed.

So far no one has been arrested in that home invasion.

Another example why the gun takers must not win. Home invaders/terrorists must be stopped by armed citizens.. Insist that the 2nd Amendment is your legal right to bear arms, protect yourself and property. Only criminals and idiots (not mutually exclusive) want gun control. Mr. Glock and Mr.Ruger Judge 4510 know what to do!

Gun safety is hitting what you aim at. The safety slugs are great as mentioned before they do not travel through the attacker, the wall and into your kids bedroom. The only people who want gun control are the criminals (they want to control them)Stand up for your family, your property and your rights. You are your first line of defense excersise your rights take the class and get a gun if you don't have one, before you can't get one without breaking the law yourself

Trigger happy, forget the 000, try the new partition rounds or ball and buck. 12ga 65 cal ball surrounded by 000. Glaser safety slugs are deadly and won't over penetrate hurting anyone else in the home.

thats why i sleep good at night, knowing i have my 12g pump loaded with 3"1/2" 000buckshot and 1 oz Hollow pointed slugs mixed in rotation. since they got away they will surely do this again unless caught or killed by a homeowner who is prepared for scumbags like that. im very prepared, you should be too

Prayers and sympathy go out to the faily of this woman. It's bad enough to lose a pet to something like this, but the trauma of being injured and having your home invaded just makes things worse. Hopefully they will catch the thugs who did this. All that said, dogs are pets, NOT bodyguards. If you have a pet to guard your house, you need to realize that any thug who would commit a home invasion has got NO problem shooting your beloved pet in the process. Get a gun. Get training. Have your lawyer on speed-dial. Personal Safety is your PERSONAL responsibility, folks...

You have the right to defend your self in your home if you fill threaten that includes using deadly force.

This is my worst fear. Our sheepdog is a "watch" as compared to a "guard" dog. We are his flock. When he senses danger he moves toward the threat but is not a jump at the throat killer. He would probably get the first shot if some dork were intent on robbing us. Condolences to the family.

In the state of NC you have the right to shoot someone if they are in your home and out for no-good. I am not sure about NC but in Georgia you have the right to shoot someone anywhere if your life is threatened.
