Woman Robbed While Trying To Make Bank Deposit

Greenville Police are investigating a robbery that happened in the parking lot of the Wachovia Bank located at 1701 SE Greenville Boulevard.

Employees from the Pizza Inn located at 1840 SE Greenville Blvd. reported that they were dropping off the night deposit Friday when the employee, 27-year-old Gail Elizabeth Terkelsen, was grabbed by a suspect and forced to drop the deposit bag. Police say the suspect picked up the deposit bag and fled the area on foot, and approximately $1,000 was taken.

The suspect is described as a black male dressed in all black and wearing a ski mask and gloves.

    Inside Job !

when i worked there, it seemed that we had to have two people doing the deposit, one to make the deposit, and a witness--so where is the witness? are they now in the habit of one person making the deposit or was it a negligent decision on the managers part? the witness' other job sort of helped with the safety issue too, though if someone had a gun i guess it wouldnt matter. in this town i wouldve had three or four witnesses, with all the crime! as far as a suspect--whats the big deal if she id'd him as black? so what if he was? why is this a discussion--catch the criminal and put him away whoever he is! i hope this isnt how justice works--everyone sitting around wondering if a perp is unjustly identified because of race--while the perp robs another person. many of the gangs in greenville that im aware of are composed of black people. thats okay the people robbing millions of dollars from your retirement funds have always been found to be white.

I used to be in the restaurant business and was robbed twice and shot at once. An inside job right? Funny how I was able to shoot at myself with witnesses who saw the people (young black men) that robbed my store. I was phone nearly a year later by the police only to be told I was not a suspect. Are you serious!?!?!? I'm not a suspect and they were able to put that together after nearly a year? Give me a break. That's some fine police work!!! And just so everyone is clear, the crime is only going to get worse. Or maybe we're just stealing things from ourselves?

The reason why businesses do this is because they can't keep the money in the store unless it becomes broken into. It does sound completely stupid but all businesses do the same thing. Most businesses close at night so after the store closes they make a deposit.

Well why would someone lie about it? Maybe you need to go to Walmart and night and see who comes up to you for money and robs you at gunpoint...In Greenville it usually is black males that are committing the robberies in this area. Do you research.

With the way this city is going, it's not gonna be safe to go anywhere. But I agree with "The Question Is", why are they making night deposits? It just isn't safe. I don't even go to the ATM after dark anymore, unless its at a gas station and its well lit, meaning I can see all the way around the ATM to make sure no one's standing behind it waiting. You have to be aware of your surroundings. I'm constantly looking around, even when I stop at a stop light. It's horrible to have to live that way, but it is what it is.

You're right! Black males don't rob people very often. I think the woman lied (like most people do when they're robbed) and has unjustly accused a black man. It happens all the time. Even the media targets/blames black males for all robberies in the area. It's a conspiracy I tell ya! lol

First off....i know both employees personally, they are two of my best friends. So please don't start saying it was them, they would not do that. She was pushed to the ground by this person...She is compeltely shaken up about this.
