The State Bureau of Investigation has been called in after an inmate died at the Wayne County jail this morning.
Deputies say Karen Jones, who was serving a seven day sentence for DW,I became ill around 6:00 a.m. Detention officers called EMS, but the 21-year-old woman was pronounced dead when they arrived.
Major Tom Effler says they believe the woman died from natural causes, but any jail death is investigated by the SBI.
