A domestic violence shooting has landed a man in jail and his girlfriend dead.
Nash County deputies have charged David Leonard with murder after they found Leasa Smith dead inside their home. Deputies say they got the call around 2:10 p.m. of a possible murder on Cedar Grove School Loop Road.
When they arrived deputies found Leonard standing on the porch.
The 65-year-old Leonard is jailed without bond and will have his first court appearance Thursday in Nashville.
