Police Make Arrest In Two Winterville Shootings

Winterville police have made one arrest in two shootings that happened at the same Main Street home just days apart. They are still searching for a second suspect.

Glen Gardner was arrested Wednesday on two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, possession of marijuana and maintaining a dwelling/place for the sale of control substances.

Michael Roberson is also wanted for the two shootings.

The latest shooting happened Sunday night on Tyson Street, near the railroad tracks. Police say in that shooting Michael Bland was shot in the elbow when a car pulled up and the gunman got out. The other shooting happened last Thursday and that victim was shot in the leg.

Bond for the 26-year-old Gardner is set at $405,000.

Previous Story

For the second time since Thursday, Winterville Police say a person has been shot at the same home near Main Street. Police are still looking for the shooter.

The most recent shooting happened after 9:00 p.m. Sunday night. Police say it happened at 226 Tyson Street near the railroad tracks, just a block away from town hall and the police station.

Police say Michael Bland was shot in the elbow when a car pulled up and a suspect got out and fired at Bland.

Lieutenant Raby with the Winterville Police Department says they were called to a shooting at the same address on Thursday of last week. Raby says that victim was shot in the leg and was treated and released before police had a chance to talk to them at the hospital.

Lt. Raby wouldn't speculated on a motive or connection between the two shootings.

Police say they do not have a suspect at this point, but they are following up on leads. Lt. Raby says witnesses were unable to describe the vehicle used in the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at (252) 756-1105.

When a large segment of the population turns their backs on their Christian roots and teachings, chaos reigns. The police can't be everywhere and we can't afford all of the jail cells. Hope and change begins in everyones own home.

Find out your facts out first before you try to talk about someone. Y'all already saying the suspects are guilty and they might have-not done it.you guys are judging a book by its cover.
