A cold front will sweep off the North Carolina coast early Saturday followed by windy and mild conditions on Saturday. Drier air behind the front will lower relative humidity values to about 20% during Saturday afternoon. Winds will increase from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 30 mph. The combination of dry and windy conditions have caused the National Weather Service to issue a Red Flag Warning for much of eastern North Carolina from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday. Any burning is discouraged until significant rainfall occurs in our area. It could be a week or more before the area sees much if any rain.
